Objectives

  • To introduce to learners the rich tradition and treasure of Hindi, the National Language and its literature
  • To make the students develop good communication skills in Hindi
  • To strenthen the Discipline Component (DC) subject of the learners by exposing them to the need of Hindi as a language of importance in almost all the spheres of their careers

Teaching-Learning Methods

Experiential Learning: The Department of Hindi offers various opportunities to learners to learn Hindi through the use of ICT, films, interactive sessions with experts, creative literary sessions with writers, poets, film script writers and international Hindi speakers and authors.

Participatory Learning: The international and national conferences organized by the department give opportunities to students to learn, interact and sharpen their speaking listening and other communication skills along with other soft skills. Kavi Sammelans are the regular features of the department which are held jointly with the Departments of Gujarati and English.

The Department blends the ICT tools of learning in classroom. YouTube and other audio visual tools are used to make students familiar with the popularity of Hindi language in the world of media and films.

Skill Development

The department of Hindi has always focused on encouraging functional aspects of Hindi. This helps strengthen their skills for creative writing and communication skills.
For this purpose Hindi department started collaboration with Hindustani Prachar, Sabha, Mumbai in 2011. Hindustani Prachar Sabha conducts regular activities in our college for the benefit of the students. The Sabha also conducts SARAL HINDI COURSE for our students since 2011.

Extension Work

  • Hindi Department students take part in extension activities of the college in nearby area through NSS and NCC.
  • They also go to teach the students of BMC school in Vile Parle (W) area regularly.

Department of Hindi organized six International Conferences in Guanghzhou, Shenzhen, China, Bali, Indonesia, Siam Reap, Cambodia, Mumbai and One National Conference in Mumbai between 2015 to 2019, in Collaboration with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Shenzhen University China, Udayana University, Bali, Indonesia, Lincoln University Malaysia, ICSSR, New Delhi and NCPSL, New Delhi.
