Smt. Maniben Chandulal Nanavati (1905-2000) – Our Role Model

“The spinning wheel is the textbook of my life.”
These words by Smt. Maniben Nanavati, fondly remembered as the beloved ‘Mani Ba,’ was the wife of Shree Chandulal Nanavati. She was a close associate of Gandhiji. During her lifetime, she religiously followed and practiced the Gandhian principles of honesty, simplicity, dignity of labour and the need to give a meaningful and practical education to the students. It was this attribute of hers that led the College to tread steadily and steadfastly on the path of continuous progress and developmental growth. She was a promoter of khadi an ardent spinner of khadi. She was given the epithet of “Khadi Mata”
