Maniben Nanavati Women’s College started in 1972 with 100 students. It was the vision of Smt. Kantaben Shah to start a college for women  and encourage them to pursue higher studies after schooling. In her mission to empower students, she was supported by Smt. Sunitaben Sheth and Smt.  Mandakini Nanavati. Based on the  Gandhian principles and teachings,  the college has  steadily progressed with new courses being offered to  keep pace with the changing times. Today  it is a matter of great honour that the College imparts higher education to m more than  2500 girls who complete  their  graduation and  post graduation studies. A large number of  girls also opt for vocational courses to  enrich their resumes with the skills and training required for excelling in their careers.

At this juncture, I acknowledge the hard work and efforts of  Dr. Maniben Kamerkar, the first Principal and her successors  Dr.  Y.M.  Singh and Dr. Harshada Rathod for  building a strong foundation that  stands tall and majestic today.

Needless to say that our present  Principal along with her astute team of   teaching faculty  leaves no stone unturned to impart the best to our students.  Be it academics, research, vocational skills, cultural activities or any sphere,  we nurture quality and excellence at all levels. We have  a  rich history of  three generations of women enrolled and walking out with their degrees. Our  doors are open for the “comeback learners” who wish to complete  their education after a long break. At MNWC, no students from underprivileged background have to leave their studies incomplete for the want of fees.  We go an extra mile to support them till their graduation.

Our non-teaching staff is fully  committed tot he growth and development of the institution. Our College   Office is completely digital and has been the pioneer college in Mumbai going for total automation and digitisation.

Our students are our  jewels   and we are proud of them. And that is the reason why they come back to us as alumni to support us.
